Lead Dance Classes at Lawrence Moore Manor

Do you enjoy dance? Do you enjoy teaching others? Volunteer to lead a ballroom dance class for seniors living at Lawrence Moore Manor in North Berkeley! The residents are interest in ballroom dancing , but if there is another type of dance that you are passionate about let us know!
Through leading a dance class you will help to give seniors an outlet for physical and spiritual activity and help them to enrich their overall wellness. The volunteer will prepare an agenda for each class and lead residents through various exercises while providing positive feedback and support. If you're looking to make a difference in your community, this is a wonderful opportunity to gain teaching experience with students who are eager to learn.
There is some flexibility in when this volunteer opportunity will happen, but it must be Monday-Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Requirements: Ongoing SAHA Community Volunteers must commit to volunteer once a week for a minimum of 4 months, and must complete a volunteer orientation, volunteer forms and background screening prior to beginning their placement.

The purpose of the SAHA's Volunteer Program is to improve the quality of living and promote health and well-being for Satellite Housing's residents. Volunteers will help foster community by facilitating activities for the residents, such as exercise groups, art classes, discussion groups, providing health and wellness information, leading or participating in games, assisting with special events, etc. The residents really appreciate the effort that is put forth by the volunteers, and look forward to the weekly interactions.
