On April 6, 2019, KAP for the Heart will be hosting our 3 rd Annual Spring for the Heart Benefit Dinner at the American Legion in Englewood, Ohio. This benefit raises funds for the Kieran Popp Memorial Scholarship and allows us to create a culture of prevention of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in youth as well as raise awareness about Heart Disease in youth and young adults. At this time our two major funding projects are the Kieran Popp Memorial Scholarship and providing AED’s to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, a children’s museum in Dayton, Ohio.

KAP for the Heart is a charitable organization created in loving memory Kieran Popp who passed away from Sudden Cardiac Arrest due to an undiagnosed heart condition in September 2015 at the young age of 23. The number of youth and young adults that pass away from Sudden Cardiac Arrest is staggering. 1 in 300 children under the age of 25 are at risk for Sudden Cardiac Death. One student athlete dies every 3 days because of SCA. The annual incidence of Sudden Cardiac Death is 8 times higher than the death toll from breast cancer. Together WE CAN and WILL change these statistics and save young lives!

An element of Spring Benefit in April is a silent auction and raffles. The auction and raffle provides donors with a unique way to support our cause. Last year, the silent auction and raffles raised over $2,000. However, to raise these funds, many of our silent auction items have to be donated. We need assistance with soliciting for donations and assistance at our event.
