Volunteer Client Advisers (VCA) needed for End of Life Washington. Did you know that Washington State is a Death With Dignity state? Would you like to work with clients who want to avail themselves of that law and help them navigate through the Death With Dignity process? If so, we would like to talk to you. You will periodically be assigned a client who has chosen to use the law. You will meet with the client (and their loved ones) and explain the process to them and then provide guidance as they complete the steps necessary to end their lives on their terms. You will be expected to attend their final day and help loved ones cope with their feelings. You will join a group of over 100 other VCAs around the state who meet regularly either in person or through virtual meetings for support and guidance. This could be the most fulfilling volunteer position you could ever undertake. End of Life WA will provide training, mentoring and support. Access to a car, a cell phone and a computer are a must. Hours vary and flexibility needed. Must have excellent communications skills. Confidentiality agreement and background check will be required.
