GOV is looking for an Equipment and Facilities Coordinator to help us continue to deliver high-quality volleyball programming.

About Gay Ottawa Volleyball (GOV):

GOV is an all-volunteer, non-profit sport organization providing volleyball programming to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, two-spirited (LGBTQ2+) and LGBTQ2+ friendly of Ottawa and the National Capital Region.

Key responsibilities:

• Obtaining permits from various Ottawa/Gatineau school boards for use of gyms;
• Negotiating the use of gyms from other court and facilities owners;
• Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with court and facilities owners;
• Ensuring that the courts and equipment provided are adequate for the type of play for which they are being used (e.g. visual inspection and measurements);
• Maintaining an inventory of equipment;
• Storing equipment safely and securely;
• Ensuring that equipment is available and serviceable at all programming venues and events (i.e. tournaments, competitive, drop-in, skills development);
• Providing leadership and direction to other volunteers working on facilities and equipment needs;
• Replacing and/or repairing damaged equipment.

Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hours per week
