Join the American Red Cross, Ohio Buckeye Region as an integral part of the Communications and Marketing Team!

Currently the Communications and Marketing Team in the area is looking for individuals with strong Public Speaking Skills. These individuals are needed for taking the on call phone, conducting interviews for video marketing materials and for other public speaking related tasks.

The team is also currently in need of videographers and photographers who would have the desire to attend events to capture video and pictures to be used in the production for promotional materials - both print and social media.

Responsibilities can include:

• Writing press releases on current American Red Cross, Ohio Buckeye Region Issues
• Helping to develop and produce short videos highlighting services we offer, volunteer opportunities and educational information
• Interviewing Red Cross clients, volunteers and staff and writing articles about their experiences
• Being on call with the media phone in case of emergencies
• Photographing Red Cross events
• Creating posts for social media platforms
• Designing and producing promotional materials
• Public speaking
• Working with all forms of media to get out information
• Online research
• Working with peers in all lines of business within the American Red Cross structure

Qualifications:

• Background or degree in public relations, marketing, design, photography, videography, media, journalism or related field(s)
• Passion for the American Red Cross mission and work
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to dress and present oneself in a professional manner
• Excellent follow up skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Flexibility
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic
• Ability to work with a diverse population

Training is provided at no cost. The Red Cross asks that Communication and Marketing Volunteers provide a minimum of 8-12 hours of service a week.
