VETERAN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED (Phoenix and surrounding areas)
Our veteran hospice patients have specific needs, one of which is comradery with a fellow veteran who understands.
Why is it important to have Veterans care for Veterans at the end-of-life?
- Military training and the culture of stoicism can often prevent Veterans from sharing difficult experiences.
- When one Veteran talks to another, stoicism, and secrecy dissolve.
- Veterans share a common language and code of conduct.
- Sharing supports life review and healing!
If you interested in becoming a volunteer we will match you with a patient near you. We offer full support and training to all volunteers!
