We are searching for certified pet therapy animals and their loving companions to visit with our hospice patients. Our patients really miss being able to have their furry friends with them. It is so rewarding when you see their faces light up and know that they can feel a little more at home when you both visit.
We are very flexible with your schedule. If you prefer to visit one patient, multiple in one building, or travel we can work that all out. We generally restrict pet therapy visits to facilities rather than homes to make sure your pet is safe and comfortable.
Requirements:
- Pets: must be up to date on their shots and must be certified as a pet therapy animal.
- Human Companions: Application (email or mailed), orientation (2-3 hours), background check, TB test, must be 18+, and have valid car insurance. You are not responsible for any fees.
If you're interested either hit "I Want to Help", email Andrea Jones at ajones01@htohh.com or call 317.951.3943. Hope to hear from you soon!
