GENERAL SUMMARY: The Donation Volunteer works under the direction of the Mansfield Mission Center (MMC) Thrift Store Staff to efficiently operate a retail donation site. They provide excellent customer service to donors and customers while maintaining a clean, neat, safe and organized environment.
Detailed instructions are given at each new assignment. As the volunteer becomes familiar with procedures, more unsupervised judgment and decision-making duties are given. Performances will be reviewed as needed by the MMC Thrift Store Sales Associates.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Communicates Mansfield Mission Center’s mission, programs and donation eligibility to donors and the public
- Stacks, sorts, stores donations and merchandise according to procedures
- Maintains a safe and secure donation site at all times
- Performs necessary janitorial work
- Accurately tracks and reports donations daily
- Abides by company standards and guidelines
- Assists with the unloading and loading of trucks, regularly lifting up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability understand policies and guidelines
- Ability to perform simple math
SCHEDULE
- 1 day per week for 2 or more hours
DAILY DETAILS
- Minimum 1 day per week for 2 hours. Store hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
TRAINING PROVIDED
- On-site training is provided and consists of an orientation, review of the Volunteer Manual, and hands-on training in action. A follow-up buddy system can be provided upon request until no further assistance is needed. On-going supervision and training will be provided as needed.

We have found that there is a great need for job and life skills, resource management education, coping skills to effectively handle emergencies, and positive support systems. We believe that through prayer, training, and proper support, individuals and families can experience economic self-sufficiency and wholeness. This holistic approach will allow them to be not only recipients of services but partners and leaders that eventually support their communities.
