Purpose

The Volunteer Recruitment Intern serves to develop, organize, and grow the Volunteer Recruitment Team across lines of service in Minnesota.

Commitment

• 10 hours per week (flexible)
• June 1 st - Sept 1 st (flexible, we can accommodate planned absences)

Training Provided

• Orientation to the American Red Cross
• On-the-job Training
• Volunteer Connection Orientation

Responsibilities

• Act as Volunteer Recruitment Lead to help develop and organize current recruitment volunteers
• Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate
• Build networks to find qualified candidates
• Post openings, as appropriate, with professional organizations and in other position appropriate venues
• Attend local professional meetings and membership development meetings, coordinating with local regions as needed

Qualifications

• Broad understanding of the American Red Cross and its opportunities for volunteer service
• Enthusiasm for Red Cross mission and programs
• Recruiting experience OR the ability to effectively communicate the Red Cross mission and activities
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective oral and written communication skills
