The Interactive Museum of Gaming & Puzzlery has one of the largest, publicly accessible game collections in the world. IMOGAP is a meeting place that encourages a diverse group of friends, families and hobbyists to play together. Because of the depth of gaming’s appeal, our visitors range from children to retirees; local enthusiasts to vacationing travelers; students and homeschoolers to historians, tacticians, mathematicians, and designers.
IMOGAP is seeking a volunteer to fill the role of a Gift Shop Assistant. The Assistant will need to spend time in the museum to greet visitors and answer questions; answer phones; and cashier admission, memberships, refreshments and gift shop items. When museum activity is slow, the Assistant will help with some light housekeeping like watering plants and putting away games.
Qualifications: Volunteers should be personable, able to work independently, eager to learn and work somewhat independently. Cashier experience would be helpful, but not required. Some tasks require physical agility (climbing ladders).

Mission Statement
Playing games is older than writing. The Interactive Museum of Gaming and Puzzlery seeks to reach a hand across every social, economic, and cultural boundary to engage other humans in structured play. We believe the exploration of ideas that are modeled by games and puzzles can produce common ground, encourage creativity, and enhance learning. We celebrate the aesthetic, historic and functional beauty of structured play and its components.
Description
As the only Board Game Museum in the United States IMOGAP is interested in sharing games and gaming culture. Since our founding in 2010 we have hosted thousands of visitors, archived thousands of games, and worked with dozens of local groups to make the world a more playful place.
