KIF

Hello,

The 11th annual Kent International Festival will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at accesso ShoWare. We are looking for individuals who want to volunteer at our festival and help us run the event. We have 2-hour volunteer time slots for the snack bar, the food court, our three entertainment stages and set up and break down and more.

This is a great opportunity to support the communities we serve and learn about their cultural traditions.

I have attached our volunteer application if any of you are interested in volunteering. Please feel free to contact Taffy Johnson at taffy@utopiaseattle.org if you have any questions.

Kent International Festival’s Mission:

We believe that, through coming together person to person and celebrating our various heritages with respect and understanding, we build a stronger and wider sense of community that is inclusive of all.

About the festival:

Our Festival is a celebration of the cultural diversity represented in the Kent community and South King County. With more than 130 languages spoken in the Kent School District, our area is a top choice for new immigrants. In response to this growing diversity, our planning committee of volunteers along with local organizations and businesses share an interest in celebrating our community's heritage. The Festival showcases the region’s ethnic dance, musical performances, spectacular native attire, cultural booths and delicious authentic cuisine. Our one-day festival is held every year on the first Saturday after Memorial Day weekend.

Thank you for your consideration and I hope to see you at the festival.
