Kindness, compassion, service. We need volunteers to help with a variety of projects in our office. No special skills are needed (other than a nice smile and a happy disposition!), but if you have areas of special skills or interests, we welcome the opportunity to talk about how we can best utilize your time and service. Our office volunteers play a valuable "behind the scenes" role in support of our nurses, aides, chaplains and social workers who care for our hospice patients and families.

We need help with preparing mailings, information packets, training materials, our We Honor Veterans materials, organizing supplies, and many other things.

Office hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. You choose the time and amount of hours that works best for you! We will work around your schedule. We provide training, ongoing support and lots of nice compliments and gestures of appreciation! Contact Bridgett Dormio at bridgett.dormio@GoodShepherdHospice.com for more information.

Mission Statement

Serving People With Dignity and Compassion

Description

COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.

At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.

We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.

Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease loneliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.

Our History - 23 Years of Comforting and Serving

Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. We now have a regional presence serving Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Along the way, we’ve touched the lives of more than 20,000 patients and shepherded 50, 000+ family members through their time of need. Every member of our team receives comprehensive, ongoing training. We are a member of the National Hospice Medicare Certified and State Licensed.
