We need a volunteer Salesforce developer/admin to help implement a new custom app to galvanize large institutional investors to advance environmental, human rights and anti-corruption standards and practices in companies and governments in the developing world. This position is a ground-floor opportunity; we are currently in the requirements phase and will shortly be moving on to design.

The Emerging Markets Investors Alliance (www.eminvestorsalliance.org) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that galvanizes institutional emerging market investors to support good governance, promote sustainable development, and improve investment performance in the governments and companies in which they invest.

Description

Shareholder engagement is a key dimension of environmental/social/governance (ESG) or sustainable/responsible investing that is common in the US and Europe. The Alliance enables asset managers to apply the approaches of shareholder engagement to emerging market equities, corporate debt, sovereign debt, and project finance. In so doing, investors can make a positive impact on the world while enhancing their assessment of ESG risks and using engagement to improve returns.

The Alliance’s primary activities include (1) organizing educational events for investors (e.g., panel discussions and workshops, with policy experts), (2) producing research on policy issues that support investor advocacy, and (3) organizing forums where investors and policy experts can interact with corporate or government officials to discuss best practices.
