If you have time to share on a Tuesday or any other day we need you. We have both female and male seniors waiting for an understanding, compassionate person to spend a couple hours with them so that their caregiver (loved one) can get a break.
You won't be providing any medical care, personal care or household tasks as your visit would be for companionship and supervision and to bring the outside world into someone who may be homebound.
You will be providing a life-saving break to a caregiver who is caring for a loved one with memory loss or who may just be frail and it's no longer safe to leave them home alone.
There are needs for day, evening and weekend hours. Even a couple hours weekly or twice a month would really help. We need men, women, couples, pairs, and families.
There are needs in Cottage Grove, Woodbury, Oakdale, Stillwater, Bayport and throughout Washington County. There are even some paid volunteer roles that have a stipend.
You may just be one person, but to that person, you may be the world.
