2022 San Francisco "Polar Plunge" and 5k Fun Run

The Polar Plunge & 5k Fun Run is one of SONC's signature events, and has become an annual tradition for locals and others traveling to San Francisco for a great time supporting a great cause! Come join the fun as hundreds of costumed participants splash into the chilly waters of the San Francisco Bay, to prove that a little cold water can't stop wacky exuberance, in an effort to raise funds for Special Olympics Northern California. Volunteers make this event special, as they fill various roles in set-up, registration, and customer service, starting at 6AM. Choose what suits your schedule and be part of something special!

Special Olympics is an international organization with programs around the world. Special Olympics Northern California is the Northern California program and is divided into regions and areas to better serve people at the local level.

REQUIREMENTS
- Please check the link in the description for volunteer needs and remaining shifts/roles.
- Volunteers are asked to wear comfortable footwear, and to dress in a fun costume if they would like. Many of the Special Olympians and other "plungers" will be in costume as well. Volunteers who are 10-14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
