This beautiful 17 acre site hosts rare oak woodland habitat with 150 year old white oaks. Invasive species, especially ivy, have taken over the forest and we need your help! We are planning on meeting at the LDS Church on Westlake Drive and Kruse Way at 9AM and working until 12PM, but volunteers are welcome to leave early if they wish.
We will be removing ivy selectively off of native trees and shrubs to prepare the site for contractor work this Fall. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle! Tools, gloves, and training will be provided. Please note that there is no bathroom on site. Please stop by, check out the site, and lend a hand as we enhance this unique oak woodland!
