Day One is a sexual assault & trauma center located on the east side of Providence. We are hosting our annual 5-K to End Sexual Violence on May 4th, starting and ending at Brown Universities track. We are looking for volunteers willing to:

-Hold signs to direct and cheer on runners along the race route
-Run water stations at the start/end, and along the race route
-Assist in hosting our Kid's Fun Run before the main race
-Assist with set up and clean up at the start and end of the race
-Assist with checking in runners

The mission of Day One of RI is to reduce the prevalence of sexual abuse and violence, and to support and advocate for those affected by it. Day One's vision is to create a community that is free of sexual abuse and violence through leadership and action that is responsive to the needs of the community.

Description

Day One provides services to victims of sexual assault, and other violent crimes through its four program areas: clinical services, advocacy, forensic interviews and case management of child sexual abuse, education and professional training. The agency is a partner in The Helpline, providing 24-hour statewide support and advocacy for victims of crime.
