Homestead Hospice is looking for active or retired Military Personnel to help us conduct pinning ceremonies for our veterans. Pinning ceremonies include talking with the veterans about the military experience and thanking them for their service with a special pin and a certificate of appreciation. Pinning Ceremonies can be small by the patient's bedside, or large with hospice staff, patient's family and other guests.
The military person pins the veteran, thanks them with a handshake, and then present the certificate.
We honor those who fought in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. We also host numerous veteran-honoring events to be involved in as well.
There is a brief orientation about hospice and veteran-specific needs. Homestead Hospice requires a TB test and drug screen to be with the elderly but we provide both at the convenience of the volunteer and at no cost.
