We are in need of race day volunteers! This run/walk, held at Occoquan Regional Park on Sunday, October 11, is the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's signature fundraiser. Money raised allows us to support women with ovarian cancer in the DC Metro area and fund research that will hopefully one day lead to both a screening tool and a cure. We have approximately 1,000 participants and need help at the registration check in, along the course, and more. To volunteer visit us at: https://runwalk.ovarian.org/dcmetro

Mission Statement
NOCC’s mission is to work tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer, and to improve the quality of life for survivors.
Description
The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition is a nationally recognized organization with a growing nationwide network of Chapters. Our chapter supports and serves the Washington, DC metro region.
NOCC’s mission is to work tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer, and to improve the quality of life for survivors. Founded in 1995, the NOCC is the first and only national ovarian cancer organization with a network of local chapters throughout the country.
These events increase awareness, honor those affected by ovarian cancer and raise funds to support the NOCC’s local and national programs, which include:
- Earlier Awareness - Promotes early detection through a variety of educational initiatives, branded publications and mass media campaigns
- RESEARCH * IN * ACTION - Invests funds in the first ever Ovarian Cancer Research Dream Team through Stand Up To Cancer
- Quality of Life - Supports newly diagnosed women in local hospitals through our signature Faces of Hope(r) Tote bags and provides vital information and resources
- Break the Silence - Empowers our communities to take action and join the fight to Break The Silence on Ovarian Cancer(r) through Run/Walks nationwide
We are always seeking volunteers to help in numerous capacities. We are a volunteer driven organization.
