Serve as coordinator of Rochester-area volunteer readers who broadcast local newspapers for the Radio Talking Book service of State Services for the Blind (SSB). Administer reading test to volunteer applicants, prepare weekly volunteer schedule, train new volunteers, broadcast newspapers on a weekly or substitute basis, assist with volunteer recruitment, serve as liaison between Rochester-area volunteers and SSB staff.

The Communication Center of State Services for the Blind provides reading materials in alternate formats for persons who are visually or physically-impaired to provide them with the tools necessary to live a full life and achieve personal independence through access to information.
Description
State Services for the Blind is a division of the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). We provide vocational rehabilitation, promote independent living, create accessible media, and offer many other services for people who are blind or visually impaired.
