Greetings!
Companion Hospice is looking for a few activity lead volunteers to assist with and create activities for our memory care patients. Your role will be to interact with the patients while assisting with activities. This individual will be responsible for implementing the program and projects. We are looking for someone to commit to two times a month or even on a weekly basis. This position would be great for students or professionals in the related fields of: social work, chaplaincy, nursing, healthcare administration, music and art therapists, psychology majors, etc.,
Responsibilities/qualifications:
-Lead activities for memory care patients
-Create activities to implement for patients
-Assist staff with activities and other projects
-Be available at least 2 times a month
-Interacting with patients in the memory unit and throughout the facilities
-Must have excellent interpersonal skills
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must complete an application and background check
-Must be at least 18 years of age

We match volunteers to Hospices where they will excel the most. We offer training and orientation, continued education for all volunteers, certificates of completion and excellence. Whether volunteers are students trying to gain experience or if you just want to give back to the community. We hope that we find individuals who can successfully achieve their goals and provide helpful assistance to Hospice organizations within the Los Angeles County.
Description
Hospice volunteers provide companionship to people living with a serious illness and help their families caregivers in a variety of ways. Hospice also rely on volunteers to help with office work, fund raising, community outreach and other operational areas.
