Mission Statement
The MISSION of AMIkids Pinellas is to help adolescents develop into successful young men & women through the delivery of education, habilitation and treatment services.
Description
We believe that potential is born in every child. At AMlkids Pinellas, every kid can discover the potential within them, transform their lives and strengthen their community, regardless of their circumstances.
AMIkids Pinellas, established in 1972, is a private, non-profit organization operating a prevention program serving boys 12-15 years of age who have school, behavior and family issues that may lead them to potentially drop out of school or come into contact with the juvenile justice system. We provide these kids with the tools they need to succeed in school and life, then help them transition back to a traditional school placement.
Unique to our organization is our AMlkids Personal Growth Model, a guiding principle to provide our kids tools for success. Based on empirical evidence, the Personal Growth Model is designed to reduce recidivism, improve program completion rates, facilitate educational gains, and cultivate an environment of achievement and improvement. Risk and need are identified through assessment, and individualized plans are developed combining behavior modification, education, and treatment for each child. This comprehensive approach addresses family issues, academic failure, addiction, mental health and legal consequences.
