Internship Title: History Colorado School Programs Internship
Internship Location: History Colorado Center, Denver, CO
Stipend: This is a competitive internship position with a $1000 stipend
Release Date: January 31, 2019Apply By: February 15th, 2019
Start Date: February 2019, TBD by schedule of intern
End Date: May 2019, TBD by schedule of intern
Required Schedule: 10 hours per week, two 5-hour shifts (approx. 9am to 2pm, Monday-Friday)
Broad Scope of Position: This internship provides selected candidates the opportunity to share their passion for history with students in a museum setting.
- Facilitate school programs at the History Colorado Center.
- Maintain school program materials.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers and staff.
- Attend school program meetings and participate actively in discussions.
Desired Skills/Academic Field of Study:
- Must be enthusiastic, hardworking with excellent communication skills.
- Formal or informal teaching experience with children ages 5 to 13.
- Desire to learn about education in a museum setting.
- Spanish language is a plus.
- Current Undergraduate and Graduate Students in Education, History, Anthropology, Museum Studies, Sociology, and Child Development preferred.
