Internship Title: History Colorado School Programs Internship

Internship Location: History Colorado Center, Denver, CO

Stipend: This is a competitive internship position with a $1000 stipend

Release Date: January 31, 2019Apply By: February 15th, 2019

Start Date: February 2019, TBD by schedule of intern

End Date: May 2019, TBD by schedule of intern

Required Schedule: 10 hours per week, two 5-hour shifts (approx. 9am to 2pm, Monday-Friday)

Broad Scope of Position: This internship provides selected candidates the opportunity to share their passion for history with students in a museum setting.

• Facilitate school programs at the History Colorado Center.
• Maintain school program materials.
• Work collaboratively with volunteers and staff.
• Attend school program meetings and participate actively in discussions.

Desired Skills/Academic Field of Study:

• Must be enthusiastic, hardworking with excellent communication skills.
• Formal or informal teaching experience with children ages 5 to 13.
• Desire to learn about education in a museum setting.
• Spanish language is a plus.
• Current Undergraduate and Graduate Students in Education, History, Anthropology, Museum Studies, Sociology, and Child Development preferred.
