We believe every child is born with endless promise. Won’t you join our community of caring adult mentors (known as Bigs) who are committed to helping children of all backgrounds achieve successful life outcomes.
In the School to Work program, adult mentors and high school youth are paired together virtually to enhance their life, career, and college readiness skills. Together mentoring pairs review a variety of important topics such as budgeting, interviewing, resume writing, and much more. Youth often state the skills learned from their mentors are no longer taught in school. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides templates for monthly activities and ongoing support. This convenient means of volunteering makes a huge social impact on the community!
Here are the details:
WHY MENTOR- To prepare Palm Beach and Martin County youth for life after high school
WHEN- Once a month, one-hour virtual meet up, ability to chat virtually throughout the program (October-August)
WHERE- On Zoom. Additionally, students complete group internships in June with local businesses
HOW- Monthly workshop lessons where youth and mentors collaborate on professional development topics
WHO- Adults with valuable professional experience, available to be background screened in Palm Beach or Martin Counties.
