Apply today at nicklauschildrens.org/volunteer! Nicklaus Children's volunteers make a difference with the patients and families in the hospital and outpatient centers by providing comfort, care, and unexpected joy, and by supporting the professional staff throughout Nicklaus Children's Health System. The Volunteer Resources Department orients, interviews, trains, and places all qualified applicants who wish to volunteer. We enthusiastically welcome individuals of all backgrounds and abilities and offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities to meet the interests, needs, and desired experiences of all volunteers. Please review volunteer opportunities below:
Adult Volunteers
Time commitment:
* Fulfill a SIX-MONTH and 80-HOUR MINIMUM COMMITMENT
* Volunteer once a week for a scheduled 3-hour shift
* Two absences are allowed every three months
RN Volunteers
Requirements:
1. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) from an accredited school
2. RN license in the state of Florida
3. CPR Certified
Time commitment:
* Fulfill a FOUR-MONTH minimum commitment
* Volunteer once a week for a scheduled 8-hour shift
High School Volunteers (please note, applications are accepted on a cycle basis)
Requirements:
1. Immunization records for MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella (Chicken Pox)
2. Most recent report card (all academic and conduct grades must be a B or better to be eligible for the program)
3. Copy of birth certificate or proof of age (14-year-old minimum requirement)

Nicklaus Children's Hospital offers volunteer opportunities at the main hospital campus as well as our outpatient Urgent Care and Rehab centers. Please note: all volunteers are processed at the main campus location through the Volunteer Resources Department.

Founded in 1950 by Variety Clubs International, Nicklaus Children's Hospital is South Florida's only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children, with nearly 800 attending physicians and more than 475 pediatric subspecialists. - For Adult and High School Volunteers, the minimum commitment is 6 months and 80 hours, with one scheduled shift per week. For RN volunteers, 4 months and 110 hours with one scheduled shift per week.
