Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin plans and coordinates various evidence based classes for adults. The evidence based classes are through the Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging: www.healthyaging.org
We need volunteers that are willing to lead discussion based classes with groups of adults in the community. Classes are offered based on volunteer availability. Training is through the Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging. Contact the ADRC-CW about partnering with us as a volunteer to lead classes.
Classes are typically held 1x a week for 2-3 hours and run for 6-7 weeks. Classes are typically offered 1-2x a year.
Workshops/Classes:
Living Well with Chronic Pain: NEW! Help adults learn how to manage chronic pain and options.
Living Well with Chronic Conditions: Build confidence in adults managing a chronic health condition.
Healthy Living with Diabetes: Help adults with pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes learn skills to better manage their condition.
Stepping On: Proven to reduce the risk of falling for adults.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers: Focus on the family/friend that is the caregiver. Whether a spouse is caring for a spouse or adult child is caring for a parent, burnout is real. This class helps to teach self care for the caregiver.
