If you speak either Russian, or Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) or both. We need you!
We would like you to visit with Residents who speak very little English. They would enjoy having an occasional conversation in their native language. We are flexible with your schedule. This is a rewarding opportunity to brighten a Residents day. Volunteers must also be fluent in English to complete Volunteer application, background check and orientation.
Current COVID restrictions apply - must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, proof is required. Must wear a surgical mask (over mouth and nose) at all times while you are here. Will need to get a quick (10 minute) test - antigen test. (Masks, and tests are provided by us at no cost).
More opportunities with ROSE BLUMKIN JEWISH HOME
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.

Description
Shalom. Welcome. The Rose Blumkin Jewish Home has been regarded as a premier long-term facility in Omaha for decades. We were just awarded the rare and coveted Five Star Rating from both the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and Medicare.gov. These ratings, which are well above the Sate and National average, are truly a testament to the quality of care we provide to our Residents. We continually strive to meet the high expectation of our clients by providing exceptional services and programs. We take tremendous pride in our well-trained, experienced Care Teams and professional staff. Our reputation for quality is built on the strength of our nursing department. While we welcome Residents of diverse backgrounds and faiths, the Blumkin Home is a uniquely Jewish setting. Emphasis is placed on Jewish community. The Home follows Kosher dietary standards, certified by the Va'ad HaKashrut of Omaha. All meals are prepared and served in accordance with Jewish dietary laws. Daily activities and special events keep Residents mentally and physically stimulated. Whether you're at the Home for a short or long stay, rest assured there will be plenty to keep you busy.
