Activities volunteers:
Assist residents to and from activities, such as: Bingo, games, crafts and musical performances. This does require the ability to push wheelchairs.
Assist residents with impaired eyesight or hearing difficulty during activity as requested.
Assist the group leader before, during and after the activity with setup, distributing materials and prizes, and clean up.
Assist in decorating Nursing facility in decorating for Holidays and special events throughout the year. This includes Nurses stations, walls, resident doors, lounge areas, and all other areas with decorations.

Mission Statement
The St. Luke Foundation helps to ensure that the ministry of St. Luke Lutheran Community, on behalf of the aging, will continue for as long as there is a need for such care. St. Luke Lutheran Community's mission is to provide faith-based services to enrich the lives of older adults.
Description
St. Luke Lutheran Home was founded in 1954 by the Lutheran Women's League of Stark and adjacent counties. This group of energetic and nurturing women from area Lutheran churches recognized a need to care for seniors who could no longer completely manage on their own.
The St. Luke Foundation was established in 1983 to provide financial support for the benefit of St. Luke Lutheran Community and its residents. The Foundation is a separate, not-for-profit, charitable corporation having its own board of trustees.
St. Luke Lutheran Community now has four facilities: North Canton, Portage Lakes, Minerva, & The Waterford. It is affiliated with the Evangelical
Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), recognized by the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) and acknowledged as an outreach ministry of both.

- Orientation or Training
- The time commitment is flexible. Each activity last about 2 - 3 hours. You can volunteer for as many as you like per month.
- We require volunteers serving more than 10 hours per year complete a 2 step TB test, which we provide here free of charge. You would get a small injection and return 2 days later to have it checked, then repeat the process the next week.
