Want to help? Not sure how? Need to stay at home for health or other reasons? Your help is needed more than ever. Volunteers carry out 90% of the humanitarian work of the Red Cross. We still must respond to local disasters, ensure a safe blood supply, be ready to assist with larger scale responses and so much more. You can be a part of it!
If you are looking to help families after a fire, flood, or other disaster, become a Red Cross Caseworker! Training will be provided by the Red Cross.Responsibilities:
Caseworkers support the disaster recovery of individuals, families, and communities affected by disasters by providing referrals, assistance, and goods to begin the recovery process
Caseworkers conduct client interviews (over the phone), use the online Client Assistance System (CAS 2.0) to document services and provide referrals to community partners
Qualifications:
Basic computer skills, ability to learn new software programs
Customer service skills
Ability to work in stressful situtations & in a team-oriented setting
Time Commitment:
Flexible
Varies in times of disasters
