The High Point Family Resource Center in West Seattle wants to offer tutoring to adult community members who are attending college. Several community members are taking courses towards becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and could benefit from tutoring in these subjects. There are other students who would like tutoring in English classes (essay writing, grammar and complex sentence structure).
This is a tutoring based opportunity, so specific days and times will be based around the individual availability of tutors and students; however, since sessions are taking place at the High Point Family Center, tutoring should be scheduled for weekdays, in the late afternoon- early evening.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work with adult learners in a kind and patient manner
- Interest in working with diverse communities
- Ability to make a consistent weekly commitment
- Weekday availability (preferrable between 2:00-6:00 PM)
- College degree preferred
- Experience with CNA requirements a plus
