Committee Purpose: We help Habitat Families build a home for themselves.

The construction committee receives input from the affiliate’s Board of Directors regarding the location and type of Habitat housing the Board would like constructed or rehabilitated. The construction committee develops the construction plan and budget for each project. With Board approval of plan, the construction committee engages with other affiliate committees, volunteer builders, permitting authorities, suppliers, and other professionals to complete the project as planned. When the committee completes a project (a ready-to-occupy home) the home is released to Family Services Committee for delivery to the Habitat family purchasing the home.

Committee Goal: Help Habitat families by building as many affordable homes as possible assuming a steady flow of key ingredients (land, Habitat families, volunteer builders, materials, and money). HFHI minimum requirements: 1 home per year.
