Do you have a hospice heart and a sewing skill to share?

Memory Bears

We are looking for individuals that are interested in volunteering for ViaQuest that will help us make "Memory Bears". These bears are made out of the clothing of a loved one who has passed away in hospice. The "Memory Bears" will be for their family members to remember them by.

Lap Blankets
Material and designs of your choice. Some favorites have been bright colors yarns or material with designs of birds, horses, dogs and cats. The blankets are given to patients in our program to brighten their day. With each blanket given, a touch of warmth, care and comfort is added to their days. (patterns available)

Veteran Blankets
Veteran specific quilts, red, white and blue, needed for Veterans in our program. Veteran quilts are presented along with appreciation certification and a lapel pin as part of the We Honor Veterans program.

Neck or Heart Pillows
Typically made from cotton or other soft materials. Requested by our nurses to assist positioning patients for comfort. (patterns available)

About ViaQuest Hospice

Location:

411 W Riggin Rd Ste B, Muncie, IN, IN 47303, US

Mission Statement

It’s hard to know where to turn for help when facing a serious illness. ViaQuest can improve the quality of life for those living with chronic and terminal diseases and conditions. These diseases slowly decrease an individual’s ability to live life to its fullest. There comes a time when seeking a cure may no longer be possible or in one’s best interest and the focus turns to quality of life. When that happens, ViaQuest Hospice may be the answer. Our care is not focused on the disease, but on pain relief and symptom control, making it easier for you to keep your focus where it should be - on living more fully. An important mission of ViaQuest Hospice is our role to improve end of life care and to provide support for caregivers. We go beyond standard care to bring love, comfort, compassion to enhance the lives we serve. We also recognize the unique need of Veterans and have designed a program to honor, thanks and support those in hospice care.

Description

Founded in 1999 by CEO Rich Johnson, ViaQuest has grown from a single division in Ohio to serving individuals throughout Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania. The name ViaQuest represents the overall mission of the company: a group of people on a mission (or Quest) to change the way (Via) health care services are delivered.

ViaQuest Hospice is Veteran owned and proved an extra layer of support to those facing serious illness. Through a wide range of innovative services referred to as ViaQuest’s Circle of Care, our skilled, dedicated employees ensure that the people we serve are active participants in their own care. Hospice services are provided wherever you consider home.
