AUDIO READING SERVICE
The Audio Reading Service broadcasts the live reading of the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, and we broadcast the recorded readings of over 65 other publications such as Fort Wayne Business News, Prevention, People, Consumer Reports, and The New Yorker.
Our target audience is listeners of all ages who have visual, physical, learning, or language challenges to reading traditional print.
Current Opportunities:
- Read Rolling Stone magazine’s award-winning articles about the music and entertainment industry, and pop-culture news for our listeners. A weekly two-hour commitment - we will work with your schedule.
- Current, up-to-date local news is our focus! Read the Journal Gazette live, with a volunteer partner, every Tuesday morning. The time commitment: 8:00 am -11:00 am
- Read The New Yorker with its un-blinking news coverage, sophisticated criticism of arts and entertainment and provocative fiction and humor. This opportunity is a two-hour weekly commitment now through April 8, 2020 -- we will work with your schedule.
- What’s going on in Decatur? Or Auburn? Or Columbia City? Find out - along with our listeners - by reading Area News. We have an every other Thursday morning, 9:00 am - 11:00 am, opportunity now through April 2, 2020, available to read our area community newspapers from hard copy and from the iPad.
If your skills and passions match our needs, we’d love to have you join our audio reading team of ACPL volunteers! An interview and audition is required. Please call the Audio Reading Service at (260) 421-1375 with any questions
