Did you know 1.1 billion people have to walk to collect their daily supply of water?

Did you know 663 million people don't have access to clean water?

Did you know the burden of collecting water is most often performed by women and children?

Do you want to roll up your sleeves and do something to help? You should join us.

20 Liters tackles the global water crisis with the power of volunteers. Groups of 4 to 12 people come together to build hundreds of durable, long-lasting water filters for people in rural, developing communities in Rwanda, Africa.

Each event is led by a trained, knowledgeable leader who provides an overview of the global water crisis and hands-on training for each step of the filter build process.

We are looking for confident, dedicated volunteers to be these leaders.

Filter Build Leaders provide training, guidance, and quality control for filter build events, helping groups build high-quality filters at high volume while helping people engage in the mission of making dirty water clean.

You will be trained, equipped, and supported by paid and volunteer staff using our detailed manuals and training resources.

Every leader progresses through the training at their own pace and we ensure you have opportunities to shadow and assist before being asked to lead on your own.

People who enjoy being filter build leaders:

  • Are comfortable with public speaking to small groups (4 to 12 people)
  • Enjoy learning and teaching new skills
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Have some free time, either during business hours or evenings and weekends
  • Are passionate about the global water crisis and the 663 million people drinking surface water
  • Want to make a tangible impact in their local and global community
