Animal Help Now (AHNow) is seeking a Senior Android Developer to join the organization's Android team in supporting and improving the world's premier wildlife emergency app.
Candidates must have Kotlin experience and must be willing to work collaboratively in GitHub with other developers. Candidates should be familiar with both Android Studio and the Android Activity lifecycle. Experience with Java is a plus.
Responsibilities include converting modules from Kotlin Synthetics to View Binding, coding UI/UX enhancements, converting remaining Java code to Kotlin code, and adding unit tests to the code base.
Responsibilities also include adding new features, fixing defects, troubleshooting and general maintenance. The Android programmers are members of the AHNow tech team. The tech team consists of developers, technology experts, and the organization’s executive director. The team occasionally meets online (GoTo) for 30-60 minutes.
AHNow is available on four platforms - desktop/laptop web, handheld web, iOS and Android.
AHNow is a volunteer-based organization.

Animal Help Now is a volunteer-driven organization. Our volunteers - including most of our tech team members - combined devote more than 200 hours per month. AHNow gives first priority to its volunteers when hiring paid positions.
