FOUR MORE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY to make sure each child has an individual, one-to-one mentor.
If you love the outdoors and have an interest, curiosity, or experience in any of these areas- nature, drawing, ecology, biology, science education, or botany-join our Friday morning cohort of Art & Science in One school volunteers this spring.
In Art & Science in One (AS1) we train one-to-one volunteer mentors in outdoor nature journaling with children, then pair each volunteer with a child in a classroom of elementary school students (Grade 4 and Grade 5). You'll be helping your student develop basic science skills of observation and documentation in an outdoor environment. We require a commitment to attend seven dates that include two training sessions. Ask us for our detailed schedule.
An additional cohort on Tuesdays will begin in late May.
Support from our on-site staff is available throughout the program.
