Brookdale Hospice, Cleveland-Akron,Eastside

Loved ones face a great deal when someone they love is nearing their end of life. It can be overwhelming and exhausting. Its emotionally, physically and spiritually taxing.

We are searching for caring hearts who have some free time to offer the caregivers a break, nap, shower, the time to enjoy a meal... or simply some alone time to recharge.

Respite and support for family members. Volunteers can assist with shopping or light household maintenance, or allow family caregivers the opportunity to take care of necessary errands, exercise, or simply have some time alone. Volunteers can also help care for a family pet.

Opportunities available for Cleveland Westside, Eastside, Parma, Akron, Canton, Wooster and Alliance regions.

Please call 216-538-8815 or email: ccarroll@brookdale.com for more information!

Mission Statement

Enriching the lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, excellence and integrity.

Description

The philosophy at Brookdale Hospice is that life is much more than physical health; it also includes the health of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes critical for maintaining the dignity of the individual.

Volunteers are an important part of our hospice team, filling roles that include direct contact with patients and clerical support. Medicare requires the utilization of volunteers alongside paid clinical and administrative staff. Hospice volunteers describe their work as gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful. We value our volunteers greatly.
