The Audubon Center at Debs Park is an urban nature center located in Northeast LA. Our mission is to inspire people to experience, understand, and care for the local natural world. We focus mainly on habitat restoration through the planting of native plants and removal of invasive, non-native species, so that plants, birds, and other wildlife can thrive and the local community can connect with and enjoy nature.
We are currently developing an educational field trip program for kids aged kindergarten-6th grade, and we are looking to build a team of volunteers to assist our staff in facilitating these experiences. The program will cover subjects like local flora and fauna, scientific research and observation methods, and the importance of respecting and taking care of the environment.
No previous experience is required, although an interest in nature and working with youth is definitely preferred. There will be a training provided prior to your first event. Please reach out if you are interested!
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
We'll work with your schedule.
