During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Your help is needed! COVID-19 has temporarily disrupted normal life in many communities, but the need for blood hasn’t changed.
Every 2 seconds, someone in the US needs blood and one blood donation can save up to 3 lives. Help and support lives in North Carolina. Volunteer at the Blood Donation Center and blood drives in your community.
Blood Drive Volunteers:
Blood Drive Volunteers can also choose to assist as a Blood Donor Screener where they will take temperatures of all donors before they enter the Blood Center. Volunteers will be provided training PPE as necessary.
If you reside in a "stay-at-home" or "shelter in place" area, blood collection staff and volunteers are considered essential. You are permitted to go to/from blood drives if you choose to help. You will be provided with Red Cross identification. Additional details will be provided upon completion of the application process.
Several enhanced blood donations protocols have been implemented in the interest of the safety of the blood supply, recipients, other donors, staff, volunteers and general public health.
