We are seeking an experienced and willing individual who can help be an events planner/special events manager for our upcoming Walk-A-Thon. Our Walk-A-Thon is one of our organization's largest fundraisers of the year. This event will be taking place on Saturday, April 27th, at 10 am at Lakeside Park toraise awareness and raise funds critical to continuing CEID’s life-changing services.

CEID is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides a variety of different programs targeted at children aged 0-5 as well as audiology medical services. In the last year, CEID provided services to over 2,000 individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families through education and audiology services. We strive to provide support to maximize communication, community, and connections. Learn more about us at www.ceid.org.

What you'll do: Support our management team in executing all items required for a successful event! Tasks will include:

  • Plan the day-of-schedule
  • Help solicit raffle basket item donations
  • Recruit volunteer help and schedule tasks to be delegated
  • Work with the operations director for marketing materials and advertising of event
  • Ensure rentals/vendors are confirmed for the day (stage, port-a-potties, etc)
  • Arrange supplies for day-of
  • Design a banner with all event sponsor informations/logos
  • Help design/order/organize t-shirts that are a the part of registration
  • ... and more!

  • Project/event management
  • Communication and writing
  • Hospitality

We are looking for someone who can provide 8-10 hours a week of support to ensure that this event is a success. You will have the cooperation of the management team and other CEID staff to see items through, and to get more information from.

We prefer that your support and work is done onsite at our Berkeley building. YOu'll have access to a computer and other related resources.
