Description of Duties: Volunteer group will be responsible for going into a residential home, cleaning out the cabinets and drawers, cleaning the shelves and laying down liners, and reorganizing the kitchen in a logical way to help staff members and the people living in the home find the items easier. If available, pictures will be placed on the inside of each cabinet to allow transitions to be easier and things can stay in the proper placement.

Qualifications: Have a heart for helping people with their homes and organization. Be punctual, respectful, and have time management skills. Be willing to work in a small group and collaborate with people.

Time Requirements: 4 to 6 hours per month

Orientation: Brief orientation on the organization and volunteer policies and procedures. Orientation of the kitchen and the layout desired.

Training: Short explanation of the desired layout and safety procedures.

Evaluation and Reporting Procedures: Volunteers will receive annual evaluations, as well as at any point where it is necessary. Volunteers will report to the Volunteer Coordinator and the directed staff that they are working with. Volunteers will follow policy in the volunteer handbook on any grievance issues.
