ORGANIZATION: Kids standard Publication

At Kids Standard, is a nonprofit organization that empowers youth through using 21 st century skills in reading, researching, and writing and finally getting published in our monthly magazine, which distributes throughout Oakland county schools. We also have many programs that focus on Literacy, Civic engagement, STEAM, and project-based learning.

We started the Pontiac-Michigan Youth project, to INSPIRE kids TO BE ENGAGED with their learning on PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE while working on their project, to ASPIRE to impact their own lives and their community! We believe that when kids engage with community members, everyone, including the community as a whole, is better for it.

We are looking for mentors in information specialists, History, designers, engineers, teachers, and recent University students or graduates to guide our students to learn the city’s present complex contemporary climate, and envision futures for their city’s success.

Volunteering anywhere from 2-10 hours/month, based on the individuals time.
