Fair U City is a community carnival staged by a group of volunteers in University City, MO, designed to raise funds for the University City Community Foundation. (www.ucitycares.org) This carnival attracts people from all over the St. Louis region - from both sides of the river - and includes great music throughout the weekend, including the University City Jazz Festival on Saturday; good food; carnival rides for the kids - everything that makes a community carnival the basis of lifelong memories.
We are always looking for people, from U City or anywhere else, who like to plan community events; meet other people; and just have fun. We all have varied life experiences, and have learned how to put on a fair as we have grown this event.
The Fair U City Planning Committee meets on the first Monday of the month, at 6:00 p.m. at the offices of our parent organization, the University City Community Foundation. We meet twice in May, the month before the fair, and do not usually meet in the summer months.
The fair is held on the weekend before Fathers' Day, in Heman Park in University City
