Description

The Adult Literacy Program helps adults to reach personal goals in improving their education, such as:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • English language
  • GED testing preparation
  • Citizenship testing preparation
  • Computer skills
  • CNA exam preparation
  • and more!

Students are paired one-on-one with a volunteer tutor, who works with them weekly in a public location at the hours that work best for both tutor and student.

The schedule is flexible; typically with 1 or 2 hours per week. Approximately 10 hours of training and orientation is provided for each tutor.

The highlight of 2018: A longtime student, immigrant, and former engineer traded in his entry-level job for his dream job with the help and encouragement of his tutor!
