MICHIGAN HUMANE SOCIETY

vol 1

The Michigan Humane Society offers Humane Education Programs for the community, with an emphasis on presenting youth-friendly programs. These programs teach metro Detroit area youth all about being an animal advocate and also teaches about safe animal handling skills. The presentations are then followed by a game or craft for the children (like making toys for our shelter dogs and cats!)

We are looking for volunteers and their certified therapy dogs to attend these programs. Children will be able to engage with a calm, cool and collected therapy dog and demonstrate the animal greeting and handling skills they've learned during the presentation.

Let us know if this is the right opportunity for you!
