6 Million Lights workshop - 1st session of two. In this unique light-making workshop we honor Holocaust survivors and descendants by celebrating the light they’ve found in their lives and shared with the world, and we honor the 6 Million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust by committing ourselves to putting light into the world.

Photographer: 6 Million Lights includes a photo-narrative project - 6 Million Stories. We are looking to capture a portrait of each of the 20 participants in this workshop, along with the beautiful lamp that each has made.

Videographer: We are seeking to capture the "process" as well as the "soul" of this unique workshop so we can share it with others.

Mission Statement

Spread light.

Description

The Illumiginossi Project (TIP) illuminates life’s journey and spreads light through innovative lamp making workshops that share wisdom, create connections and inspire. From cradle to grave, we have different initiatives that shed light and provide comfort for life's dark, challenging passages or honor and celebrate its important milestones. Through a process that fosters conversation and community, our participants create beautiful, illuminated paper lamps that embody intention and meaning, while exploring and nurturing their inner light so they can reflect and share it with others. The lamps serve as a long-lasting beacon, each lamp a unique expression of its creator’s intention to bring more light to the world.

TIP is a young, entrepreneurial nonprofit that seeks sustainability through program revenues, utilizing a subscription model; and also through ongoing donations from a sister for-profit, Illumignossi, which sells lamp kits, lamps and illuminated products and donates half its profits to TIP. We hope to be a model for other startup nonprofits.
