Make an impact by working with horses and people at the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center (CTRC)! CTRC is a PATH accredited center, which is focused on changing lives of individuals with disabilities by promoting physical, psychological, and social well-being through equine assisted activities.
There are several different volunteer opportunities:
- Horse Leader (groom, tack, and lead horses)
- Side Walker (assist and support riders)
- Volunteer around the barn (e.g., turn in/turn out, mucking stalls)
There are also additional opportunities for volunteers to do horse care, take lessons, and exercise ride with experience.
Volunteers must be 16 years and older (14 years old with previous horse experience).

The Mission of the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center is to promote the physical, psychological and social well-being of persons with disabilities through their interaction with a therapeutic team consisting of a horse, an instructor and/or a therapist, and volunteers.
Description
The Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center (CTRC) is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Int'l) Premier Accredited Therapeutic Riding Center in Longmont, Colorado devoted, since 1980, to serving children and adults with disabilities. As the oldest and largest therapeutic riding center in Colorado, and one of the largest in the nation, CTRC serves over 700 riders through our dynamic programs and has an impressive work force of over 1,000 volunteers each year.
