Department Summary: College Bound AZ is a nonprofit organization that serves underrepresented students 14-24 years old. College Bound AZ provides mentoring, guidance and support to ensure students achieve their dream of post secondary education.

Job Description:
The Grant Writer is an essential position for ensuring funding for College Bound AZ operations. He/she researches to identify applicable grants through the internet, referrals or grant databases and prepares the submission. He/she records and tracks submissions to provide the organization grant information on dates submitted, decision dates, decisions, and award amounts.

Essential duties/ responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships and partnerships with other nonprofit agencies and funding institutions to raise awareness of the College Bound AZ mission and to identify joint opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal staff on operational needs and strategic planning to identify appropriate partner agencies and fill financial need.
  • Research applicable grants through the internet, referrals or grant databases and prepare the submissions.
  • Provide information on College Bound AZ to partner organizations to complete grant proposals.
  • Track and record grant search results and grant submissions providing a status for agency name, grant amount, grant summary, partner agency (if applicable), submission dates , decision date and result

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or college senior.
  • Ability to research and work independently.
  • Experience working with underrepresented populations
  • The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and have experience in conducting and documenting research projects.
  • Certification by the American Grant Writer’s Association Preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise using technology for communication, record keeping, and data management.
  • Member will be required to successfully pass a background check

College Bound AZ is a non-profit organization committed to helping students fulfill their dreams of a college education. We depend upon the donations of time, money and supplies made by caring individuals and corporations who support us in our mission.

College Bound AZ is a pathway though college that includes: One-on-One mentoring, enrichment activities, and college entrance assistance.

College Bound students are engaged at least weekly in different activities designed to raise their awareness and ensure their competitiveness for college entrance. Activities include but are not limited to: Field trips, projects and events, Education workshops, Service Learning opportunities, Leadership and Decision making and Life Skills Training
