Play an Instrument?- Share your Talent with Music Lessons for Kids!
ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army Riverhead Corps.
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Salvation Army reconnects kids with the arts through after-school programs and summer camps.
The Salvation Army provides students with the opportunity to find their passion, whether it's choir, playing an instrument, or becoming immersed in drama or dance. By investing your time volunteering for our after-school programs where kids can receive musical training and spiritual development, we give aspiring artists their start.
The Salvation Army is looking for experienced musicians and singers who would love to donate their time and talent to teaching the underpriveleged in their very own community.
Every Friday evening we provide free music lessons to around 25 kids ages 7-17 in the Riverhead area. We are looking to expand the kind of lessons we can offer, especially Piano, Guitar, drums, and strings. At the end of the spring the kids will be participating in a concert with children all over the tri-state area at our camp in New Jersey.

Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Description
The Salvation Army is dedicated to Doing the most Good year round and it’s not possible without the help of YOU, the community members, who graciously donate your time, skills, and funds to make all that we do possible.
We are always welcoming volunteers to join us in our crusade to make the world a better place. We are currently looking for volunteers for several areas of service. The first being our Christmas Department! We are looking for volunteers, especially bi-lingual (but not necessary), to help us run interviews for our Christmas Toy Shop throughout October. For November and December we are looking for volunteers to help with toy collection, distribution, and kettle ringing. Year round we are looking for volunteers to help us in our Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen.
