The National Mentoring Program matches mentors and mentees in northeast Indiana through a referral system and application process. The goal is to monitor and increase school attendance and grades and to help prevent at risk behaviors such as truancy.
Students must be between the ages of 9-17 and be at risk for grades and attendance. A Pre and Post Developmental Asset Profile if given to each student participating.
Parental involvement is required in the year commitment. Parents are encouraged to attend orientations and trainings.

Description
The National Mentoring Program matches adult positive role models with children ages 9-17 that are at risk for many factors. Grades and school attendance are monitored. Matches meet after school and weekends to spend 1-2 hours per week or 6-8 hours per month doing fun activities and become their friend.
